10 miles of GAP Reopens south of Boston

GAP Reopens Near Boston, PA

The Regional Trail Corporation and Elizabeth Township will reopen a 10-mile section of the Great Allegheny Passage near Boston, Pa., on May 1, 2021.

The opening follows a five-month closure to replace sewer lines running underneath the trail.  The project included a complete resurfacing and widening of the trail and the replacement of damaged culverts.

The new surface will remain soft through the spring, so please travel carefully.  Also, periodically contractors and trail maintenance vehicles will be making final adjustments, and visitors may be required to take short detours or closures.

A big thanks to volunteers from the Mon/Yough Trail Council for coordinating the complicated details of this effort.
